Trauma and PTSD
Compassionate, evidence-based PTSD treatment and trauma therapy
The Impact of Trauma
Trauma can leave a deep imprint on how you connect with the world. You might find yourself on edge, reliving painful memories, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others. Even when the event is long past, your body and mind can feel like it’s still happening.
If this sounds familiar, you are not alone—and healing is possible.
Recognizing the Effects of Trauma
Trauma shows up differently for everyone, but some common signs include:
Flashbacks or intrusive memories that disrupt daily life
Feeling numb or detached from people you care about
Intense emotions that feel hard to control
Avoiding reminders of what happened
Struggles with trust, intimacy, or relationships
Anxiety, guilt, or shame that feels overwhelming
How Therapy Helps
Trauma therapy creates space for you to process what happened safely, at a pace that feels right. Together, we’ll work on:
Building safety and stability so you feel more grounded and in control
Processing traumatic memories in ways that reduce their power over your life
Developing coping tools to manage triggers, emotions, and stress
Reconnecting with your strengths and values so you can move forward with greater clarity and purpose
My Approach to Trauma Treatment
Healing from trauma requires both compassion and skill. My role is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you begin to heal.
I draw on therapies that research has shown to be effective—including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR—while ensuring our work is never one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll identify the approaches that best fit your needs and goals.
My training has given me the privilege of working with veterans, college students, and individuals navigating trauma alongside challenges such as substance use and compulsive behaviors. Across all of these experiences, one truth has remained constant: lasting healing happens when therapy combines scientific rigor with genuine human connection.
Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative process—rooted in respect, guided by your goals, and designed to help you move toward the life you want.
